Minister of Youth
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
The creator of the universe, seeing that his creation had fallen into the depths of sin, incarnated Himself into a baby so that He may experience the life of His creation and to give up His life so that His creation would once again be made perfect. This is the revelation of the Holy Bible, God’s Word. He loved us so much that He gave Himself for us. I met God personally during a Sunday night service at East Hickory Baptist Church in Hickory, NC. I came forward as Preacher Paul gave the invitation. I will always remember the day I accepted my Savior’s gift of salvation.
It is not by chance that you are reading this biography. You may be a church member checking out the web site, you may be looking for a place to worship, or God may be drawing you to Himself as you read these words. You can experience God today. Through Jesus you can claim your inheritance. First, admit that you need salvation. Romans 3:23 reminds us that we all sin and fall short. Second, believe that Jesus is who He claimed to be. II Corinthians 5:21 tells us that Jesus who knew no sin became sin for us so that we can be made righteous. Third and finally, confess that Jesus is Lord, believe that He was raised from the dead, and claim your gift of salvation (Romans 10:9).
God, You are holy, great, the creator of everything. I lift Your name in worship and praise. LORD I ask that You draw the person reading these words to You at this very moment. Reveal Yourself to them. Give them strength to admit their faults, a desire to turn from their sin, and the faith to accept Your gift of salvation. In Jesus’ name I ask these things. Amen.
God’s salvation is a gift. You must accept a gift when it is given before you can enjoy the gift. You can open your gift today. Pray, “Dear God, I confess that I am a sinner, and I am sorry. I need a Savior. I know I cannot save myself. I believe by faith that Jesus, your Son, died on the cross to be my Savior. I believe He arose from the grave to live as my Lord. I turn from my sin. I ask You, Lord Jesus, to forgive my sin and come into my heart. I trust you as my Savior and receive you as my Lord. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me.” It’s important that you share your decision. If you are looking for a place to worship, then drop by OBC.
