AWANA Ministry

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, based on II Timothy 2:15. AWANA clubs meet every Wednesday night during the school year from 6:15 untill 8:05. The meetings provide an emphasis on Bible memorization, recreation, discipleship, and an outreach to the unsaved. There is a club meeting for boys and girls ages three through the sixth grade. Clubbers are led to memorize bible verses and apply these Biblical truths to their lives.

The AWANA program recruits and trains laypeople who lead each clubber to an understanding of their need for God’s forgiveness of sin and to work in faithfulness to Him. If you are interested in serving as a leader or in getting your child involved in AWANA, please contact our Director of Children’s Ministry Lisa Walker by calling the church office or by email lisawalker@oxfordbaptist.com
